1 Man Found Dead, 1 Woman Severely Injured Inside Corona Hotel Room

CORONA (CBSLA.com)  —  Corona Police responded to a call Friday morning about two people being found dead inside a hotel room.

Police responded to the Best Western Hotel in the 1000 block of Pomona Road just before 10:20 a.m. and found one person dead.

Upon arrival at Room 131, officers discovered a deceased adult male and a severely injured female inside one of the rooms. The female was transported to Riverside Community Hospital.

The victims have not been identified but police and the hotel manager said they were a married couple who were at the hotel for about a week.

Investigators will piece together what occurred after they obtain a search warrant for the premises, police said.

KCAL9's Crystal Cruz reporting from the scene said investigators told her it appears to have been an incident involving domestic violence.

A dog was also killed, Cruz reported.

Officials did not tell Cruz how the man and dog died or how the woman became severely injured. Corona Police told her they were not looking for a suspect.

Friday evening, the wife was reported to be in stable condition. Police were hoping to question her following surgery.

Cruz spoke to vacationing guests who said they awoke to a strange wake up call from the front desk.

"We were told we couldn't leave and we couldn't get back in while they were doing their investigation," said Stephanie Bulman.

If you have any information regarding this case please contact Detective Gail Gottfried (951) 279-3623.
