2 North Texans Now On FBI's Most Wanted Fugitives List

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Laura Garcia still considers her former co-worker, pediatric dentist Dr. Kendra Hatcher part of their family. "The thing I remember most about her is her laugh," she said.
"We were happy Dr. Hatcher has not been forgotten about," said Garcia.
Authorities said Delgado is the alleged mastermind behind the murder-for-hire plot. Kristopher Love is charged with shooting Hatcher, and Crystal Cortes is accused of acting as the getaway driver. Both have already been arrested and charged.
Investigators said Delgado was jealous because her ex-boyfriend was dating Hatcher and had recently met his parents.The FBI is offering a $100,000 reward for any information leading to Delgado's arrest. Agents believe Delgado is hiding in Mexico, where she's a citizen, and said she is armed and dangerous. Officials said Mexico is cooperating with their efforts to track down Delgado.
Because Mexico offered to help, Dallas County District Attorney Susan Hawk said Delgado will no longer face the death penalty, but life in prison.
Hawk said, "We're trying to get her extradited back here. In order for us to do that, one of the conditions was the death penalty had to be off the table. She's still charged with capital murder, which carries a life sentence."
Delgado is now the second person from North Texas on the FBI's list. The agency added Yaser Abdel Said of Lewisville in December of 2014, nearly seven years after he was accused of shooting to death his two teenage daughters, Sarah and Amina, in his taxicab.
Gail Gartrell is the girls' aunt. "I will never give up hope Yaser will be caught," she said. "My hope is someone will spot him and will know who he is and will call somebody and he will be arrested."
Thomas Class, the Special Agent In Charge of the Dallas office of the FBI said, adding suspects to their top fugitives list is taken very seriously. "It goes to the highest levels of the FBI to make a determination on who goes on the list. It's based upon the nature of the crime, the heinousness of the crime, and the notoriety of the crime."
Gartrell said despite the FBI's list, she and her friends still plaster Said's face on social media. "So people won't forget what he looks like and won't forget Sarah and Amina."
As for Kendra Hatcher's murder, her relatives attended the FBI'S news conference Wednesday, but declined comment. But they have stayed in touch with Hatcher's co-workers.
Garcia said, "They send us cards, and for her birthday, they sent us a cake which I thought was very nice of them. We sang happy birthday to her as an office."
