PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) – JCPenney is on the defensive again as a result of a new Father's Day ad featuring a real-life gay couple playing with their children.

One Million Moms is boycotting JCPenney for the ad, saying the promotion of same-sex marriage through the department store's Father's Day advertising is "continuing on the same path of promoting sin."

The ad in question features Todd Koch and Cooper Smith, a same-sex couple, playing with their two children. The Father's Day ad states: "First Pals: What makes Dad so cool? He's the swim coach, tent maker, best friend, bike fixer and hug giver — all rolled into one. Or two."

The ad follows suit with JCPenney's recent standing with the LGBT community. On Mother's Day of this year, the Plano-based company released an ad featuring two lesbian parents and their daughters. And this isn't the first time OMM has come after the department store. A few months ago, OMM criticized JCPenney for naming Ellen DeGeneres as a spokesperson. JCPenney CEO Ron Johnson supported his company's relationship with the openly-gay comedian and talk-show host, saying that DeGeneres "represents the values of our company."

OMM has urged people to cancel their JCPenney memberships, telling people to write, "Refused…"Return to sender," when their store catalogs arrive.

"It is obvious that JCP would rather take sides than remain neutral in the culture war," the group notes in a statement. "JCP will hear from the other side so they need to hear from us as well. Our persistence will pay off! One day we will answer for our actions or lack of them. We must remain diligent and stand up for Biblical values and truth. Scripture says multiple times that homosexuality is wrong, and God will not tolerate this sinful nature."
