2 suspects in custody after theft at Ulta

LEWISVILLE, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - A theft at Ulta beauty store in Allen led to a standoff with police in Lewisville on Tuesday.

Allen police said two suspects entered Ulta at about 4:30 p.m. Aug. 23. The suspects stole over $3,000 worth of merchandise. 

Allen police drove to an apartment complex in Lewisville, since the theft took place in Allen, police said. 

Once in the parking lot, one suspect was taken into custody and the other fled on foot. The suspect that fled locked himself in an apartment and refused to come out. 

When that suspect surrendered, at about 8:30 p.m., he was taken into custody. Both suspects were transported to the Allen Police Department and later transported to Collin County Jail. 

The vehicle they were driving was recovered at that scene as well.

Officers from McKinney, Allen, Frisco and Texas DPS responded to the scene. DPS made the first arrest.

Investigators retrieved the stolen property and returned it to Ulta.
