Winter Planning A Comeback
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Winter wants to make a comeback. In Metro Detroit, we're under a winter weather advisory.
According to AccuWeather Meteorologist Dean Devore, the metro Detroit area is expecting "for the morning hours, snow around an inch or two of accumulation, primarily on the grassy surfaces. I think paved surfaces will be mainly wet, although we have to be careful as the temperatures drop with the onset of this precipitation this morning."
As of 5:00 a.m., the snow was coming down in Jackson, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo and Holland.

That pattern does have "destination Detroit," which could make part of the morning commute dicey for driving.
According to WWJ's Ron Dewey, "Cover the weather around here long enough and you learn not to characterize any storm as Old Man Winter's last stand. Case in point: here we are at the backside of April with 2 to 4 inches on the way during the course of the morning drive. Some areas like Ann Arbor and Detroit expecting more. Others like the suburbs expecting less. Forecasters say it will be quick and intense to the point it will leave the pavement anywhere between wet to icy to slushy."
Drivers are advised to prepare themselves for changing conditions and give themselves extra time to get where they're going this morning.
