Khang's Blog: How Far Away Are The Pistons?
Last night while I was enjoying the NBA playoffs (yes I'm the one guy in Detroit) I couldn't help but realize how far the Pistons are from contending for an NBA championship. I watched as the Heat who has three franchise players beat the Celtics in overtime who have three Hall of Fame players on their roster. Then I watched Memphis and Oklahoma City, two very young and exciting teams go into triple overtime led by future and current stars in this league. What do these teams' rosters have in common with the Pistons' roster? Nothing. The Pistons lack youth, excitement and most importantly talent. They are in desperate need of a franchise player that they will only be able to get via draft and that's only if they get lucky. The end result is that these NBA playoffs have been great because of the talented rosters these teams were able to put together and that is something I don't happening with the Pistons anytime soon.
