Job Vacancy: 'Chief Wombat Cuddler'

TASMANIA, Australia (CBS4) - Australia is searching for a good cuddler, someone who's ready to hug a wombat.

Eight-month-old Derek the Wombat was rescued from his mother's pouch after she was hit by a car. Now, the little guy is in need of some motherly love.

People who want the cuddling job have to write an essay about why they're the best cuddler.

Unfortunately, for those of us who live in Colorado, there's one catch: only Australian residents can enter.

Thankfully, "there's no doubt Derek has won Australia's hearts, with many wishing they could cuddle him - even for just a short moment," the contest website says.

The winner and a friend will be flown to Tasmania's Flinders Island to smother the little guy with affection, while also having the chance to explore the Derek's home for three nights.

"Non cuddlers," the website says, "need not apply."
