Vail Bike Path Opens Sooner Than Expected
VAIL, Colo. (CBS4)- The Vail Bike Path in Eagle and Summit Counties opened to the public today.
It was closed during the winter months due to snowpack and avalanche risks in the area.
The path has been closed by crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation and is ready for summertime recreation.
Later this spring and summer the path will undergo repairs and improvements in two different areas which may result in some closures. On the east side of Vail Pass there will be repairs on two bridges that were damaged this past winter.
On the west side of the pass the path will be resurfaced from mile marker 182 to MM 191. Minor drainage improvements will also be made.
