Suspect Arrested After Chase, Standoff In Capitol Hill
DENVER (CBS4) - A suspected robber is in police custody after a chase and standoff on Capitol Hill on Saturday.
The incident ended at a law office near 8th and Pearl. The suspect threatened to hurt himself with a small knife before he eventually surrendered to police.
It began when a woman saw the man in her garage a few blocks away. She told police he threatened her and then started running.
"They noticed that subsequently that he ran, we believe, down towards the Governor's Mansion, then through the property," Sonny Jackson with Denver police said.
The suspect was spotted after police set up a large perimeter in the area. He was taken to the hospital after suffering some cuts after allegedly breaking through a window of the law office.
The suspect's name hasn't been released.
