Feds launch new effort to tackle traffic congestion
Chicago deals with the worst traffic congestion in the U.S., according to the 2025 Global Traffic Scorecard from INRIX, a transportation analytics company. The U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration are kicking off a new program to address the economic impact of traffic congestion in Chicago and across the country, dubbed "Freedom to Drive."
