Nearly four months have passed since the embankment collapsed on the CTA's Yellow Line, shutting it down. But at least another month of work remains.
Service was halted May 17 after the ground gave way under the tracks during a MWRD construction project.
The train service between Rogers Park and Skokie was shut down earlier this week following an embankment collapse. Initially, officials thought it would take only a few days to repair.
Travel to and from Skokie by CTA won't be Swift for a while, after an embankment crumbled, falling away completely from the tracks. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) said Tuesday that it will take "several weeks to complete this (repair) work properly."
Yellow Line riders are in for a long delay, as it could up a month before trains are running again, after tracks were damaged by a ground collapse.
