A man was killed and a teenager was critically wounded Monday morning in a Back of the Yards neighborhood shooting on the South Side.
About 11:25 p.m., a 23-year-old man and a 52-year-old man were standing on the sidewalk in the 7200 block of South Winchester when a light-colored vehicle drove by and someone inside opened fire, police said.
The men, ages 25, 27 and 34, were involved in an argument with another male about 9:30 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Throop Street, when the male pulled out a gun and opened fire, police said.
A witness said at the scene he heard as many as 14 shots. Neighbors said Shaquise Buckner's companion may have been the intended target.
A 23-year-old was shot in the head and chest in the 7600 block of South Coles Avenue around 9:20 p.m. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he later died, police said.
A 16-year-old boy was shot in the head about 8:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of South Justine Street on Sunday. The boy, of the 1000 block of West 78th Street, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The fatal shooting happened in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, where a man was found lying on a sidewalk about 7:35 a.m.
The fatal shooting happened about 10 p.m. on the Near West Side. A 17-year-old boy and two men, ages 49 and 18, were standing on a sidewalk in the 200 block of South Western Avenue when a male got out of a dark-colored sedan and opened fire.
Police said the woman was sitting on a porch in the 5900 block of South Justine Street around 7 p.m., when she heard someone fire shots, and realized she'd been shot.
Early Thursday morning, a 39-year-old man was fatally shot at a gas station in the Far South Side West Pullman neighborhood.

The fire started around 9:30 a.m. at a house at 6629 S. Bishop St., and ended up spreading to a house next door. No one was home at either house at the time, but both homes were significantly damaged by the blaze.
