One person was killed and two others injured after an argument between neighbors escalated into shooting involving an off-duty police officer Friday afternoon on the South Side.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m., a 23-year-old man was killed in a drive-by shooting in the South Side Auburn-Gresham neighborhood. He was in the 900 block of West 83rd Street when a van drove by and multiple males inside fired at him.
The three were in a vehicle in the 1600 block of South St. Louis Avenue at 3:07 p.m. when three male shooters fired in their direction, police said. The shooters then left the scene.
Both men, 25 and 29, were at the corner of West 116th Place and South Peoria Street when they were shot about 1:30 a.m.
The victim, 23, was in the 900 block of West 83rd Street at 6:26 p.m. when a van drove by and multiple males inside fired at him.
The 32-year-old man was in a vehicle stopped at a red light about 2:45 a.m. in the 1600 block of West Cermak Road, when a grey vehicle pulled alongside and someone inside flashed gang slogans and opened fire.
Paramedics were called about 6:15 a.m. for reports of a man bleeding in a hallway in the 7800 block of South Ingleside Avenue.
