Tyris R. Jackson, 35, was walking in the 4900 block of South Drexel Boulevard about 8:30 p.m. when a white SUV approached and the front passenger exited the vehicle, produced a handgun and fired multiple shots.
About 7 p.m., the 20-year-old was shot in the abdomen and arm in the 11800 block of South State Street, police said.
The shooting happened in the 1800 block of Dodge Avenue about 1:20 a.m. Donte Blackwell, 23, of Niles, was shot once in the torso and was taken to Evanston Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A 21-year-old Evanston man was shot in the arm and leg, and was also taken to Evanston Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The most recent fatal shooting happened about 1 a.m. Sunday. Two boys, ages 16 and 17, were standing on the sidewalk in the 8200 block of South Ingleside when someone walked up and fired shots at them. The younger boy suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he died.
