Illinois State Police said, around 1:45 a.m., troopers responded to a call of a vehicle hit by gunfire in the northbound lanes of I-57 near 119th Street.
Police said a 27-year-old man was trying to break into a house near 87th and Euclid around 10:45 a.m. A 71-year-old man shot the suspect in the hand, and the intruder was arrested a short time later when police arrived.
Police said a 25-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were walking near 95th and Bennett around 2:30 a.m., when a gunman walked up from behind and shot both of them.
