The final shooting of the weekend turned fatal in the Old Irving Park neighborhood early Tuesday on the Northwest Side. A 31-year-old man got into a fight shortly after 3 a.m. in the 3300 block of North Keeler with someone who then pulled out a gun and shot him in the chest, according to Chicago Police.
The fatal shooting happened about 11:40 p.m. in the North Lawndale neighborhood. A 14-year-old boy was standing on the front porch of a home in the 1300 block of South Kostner with a two other people, when a car drove by and someone inside opened fire. The boy was shot in the back and later pronounced dead, police said.
Grand Central District officers tried to pull the vehicle over when the driver committed a traffic violation as he pulled out of an alley Saturday evening. The driver drove off but stopped and ran from the SUV. Officers found him hiding under a porch. About 386 pounds of cannabis was found in the SUV.
Most recently, a man was shot to death early Monday in the North Austin neighborhood on the Northwest Side, police said.
