The tanning salon chain awarded Jason McDaniel $5,000 for his bravery for disarming Gary Amaya, the suspected "Honeybee Killer."
Just days after a gunman was shot to death by a customer-turned-hero, an Orland Park tanning salon is stepping up security. And, as CBS 2's Vince Gerasole reports, employees are finding security in each other, too.
Surveillance video from the weekend robbery and subsequent shooting at an LA Tan in Orland Park was released Tuesday.
It's likely investigators will comment today as evidence mounts that the gunman killed at an Orland Park tanning salon over the weekend, was the "honeybee killer."
The pistol used in a weekend robbery at an Orland Park tanning parlor is the same weapon that killed a man and wounded two others during a two-state shooting spree in October.
