The latest homicide happened early Sunday in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. About 2:15 a.m., 29-year-old Tyree White was outside with a 28-year-old woman near West 59th Street and South Wentworth Avenue when someone walked up and opened fire.
Officers responding to a call of shots fired at 11:36 a.m. Friday in the 700 block of West 71st Street found the 20-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds to the thigh, according to Chicago Police.
Eight people, including a 15-year-old boy, were wounded in shootings on the city's South and West sides Tuesday.

The most recent shooting happened in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side. About 9:40 p.m., a 43-year-old man was sitting in a parked vehicle in the 5000 block of West Chicago when someone walked up and shot him in the neck and back, police said. The person got into a white SUV and fled eastbound.

Jazmine Jones faces one count of causing child endangerment leading to death, according to Chicago Police. Jones was arrested because she "neglected to treat the injuries sustained by the victim while the victim was being cared for by Jones," police said. "The victim sustained injuries that may have led to the victim's death."
A 16-year-old boy was shot to death in the East Chatham neighborhood on the South Side, police said. He was found at 1:07 a.m. in a hallway of an apartment building in the 800 block of East 83rd Street, according to Chicago Police.
