Police said officers were investigating reports of a carjacking shortly after 10 p.m., and spotted a vehicle suspected to be the one they were seeking in the 600 block of East 100th Place. Instead of pulling over, the driver leaned out the window and began shooting at officers, police said.
Police said a 39-year-old man was delivering newspapers around 5 a.m., with the 3-year-old boy in the back seat, when a white Nissan pulled up behind him on Marine Drive, just north of Irving Park Road. A young man got out of the Nissan, got into the victim's car, and drove away.
The incident happened over the weekend in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot reports.
