A teenage boy was shot and killed Thursday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood. About 6 p.m., 16-year-old Amari Sutton was found outside in the 1400 block of East 73rd Street with gunshot wounds to the chest and neck, police said.
In the most recent shooting, a man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
The shooting happened about 12:10 a.m. in the 4700 block of West Maypole Avenue, police said. The man was walking when two men approached and announced a robbery.
The fatal shooting happened about 1:50 a.m. Wednesday in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side. The 24-year-old woman was a passenger in a vehicle in the 4500 block of North Broadway when gunfire erupted and she was struck in the head.
About 9:20 p.m., the teen was getting into a car in the 6000 block of West Wabansia when he heard shots and realized he had been struck in the right shoulder, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
