Election officials and state political leaders are encouraging mail-in voting as a way to protect poll workers and voters from possible COVID-19 exposure even as plans still call for opening in-person voting sites on primary day.
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker on Sunday pushed back against critics of his plans to reopen Illinois.
"That's why, I, by the way, am going to be spending as much time as necessary and campaigning as hard as I can for Joe Biden," Obama said.
Catanzara has been a frequent critic of CPD reform efforts and City Hall policies over the last several years; often chiding the mayor and aldermen at monthly City Council meetings.
A growing number of mayors in Illinois have called for action that would reopen their towns and villages ahead of Gov. JB Pritzker's current executive order timeline.
"Based on the numbers we are seeing, if these businesses don't open soon, many will be forced to close their doors entirely. I want you to know we are doing everything we can to keep that from happening."
"This is something that they are entitled to anyway, just don't make them wait 18 months for it," Duckworth told CNN in an interview Friday.

Evers' current "safer at home" order that closed most nonessential businesses is set to run until May 26.
The new leaders of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police were seen in photos together – not wearing masks or social distancing.
"With this plan it could be months or even years before the state would fully reopen as we wait for a treatment or vaccine," said Rep. Dan Brady.
Gov. JB Pritzker has said there is no real backlog on jobless claims in Illinois. But on Monday night, our sources said the backlog is real, and getting longer by the day.
Gov. JB Pritzker on Sunday said he believes the White House should have stepped in earlier to ensure states have the supplies needed for coronavirus testing.
