Winter Storm Dumps Foot Of Snow On Parts Of Chicago Area
(CBS) -- A winter storm buried much of the Chicago area under several inches of snow particularly areas to the north and west of the city.
As of noon, O'Hare received 7.1 inches of snow with Midway getting 3.5 inches. Some areas north and west received around foot of snow, with Northbrook getting 14.9 inches, Elgin 12 inches, Buffalo Grove 11.5 inches and Elk Grove Village 11.6 inches.

CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot reports Libertyville was experiencing near white out conditions as nearly 10 inches of snow has piled up.
Snow plow drivers we spoke to have been hard at work, starting to clear parking lots and roads here after midnight. The snow has been wet and heavy, blanketing the roads and creating slick driving conditions.
The Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation has deployed more than 260 snow plows and salt spreaders. You can follow the progress of the city's snow plows with the city's plow tracker site.
The weather is also causing problems at the city's airports. At O'Hare more than 350 flights have been cancelled and the airport is experiencing delays up to 20 minutes. About 175 flights have been cancelled at Midway, with delays up to 60 minutes. To check the status of your flight, click here.
