White Sox Send Down Brad Penny, Scott Carroll
(CBS) The White Sox trimmed their spring roster to 32 by making a pair of moves Thursday.
Chicago reassigned right-hander Brad Penny and right-hander Scott Carroll to minor league camp. Penny had a 6.89 ERA and 1.79 WHIP in 15 2/3 innings this spring. Carroll had a 1.59 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 11 1/3 innings.
The White Sox have 18 pitchers, three catchers, eight infielders and five outfielders left on their spring roster. Chicago opens the season Monday at Kansas City.
