White Sox Place Reliever Putnam On 15-Day DL

(CBS) The White Sox have placed right-handed reliever Zach Putnam on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation, they announced Thursday afternoon.

In his place, Chicago has called up right-hander Andre Rienzo from Triple-A Charlotte.

Putnam is 3-2 with a 2.35 ERA, three saves and a team-best 12 holds across 42 appearances in 38 1/3 innings this year. Rienzo is 4-5 with a 5.87 ERA this season in 14 appearances, 11 of which have been starts.
