White Sox Place Melky Cabrera On Family Emergency Leave List
(CBS) White Sox outfielder Melky Cabrera won't be with the team in Detroit for this weekend's three-game series against the Tigers, as the organization on Friday placed him on the family emergency leave list .
The White Sox have recalled pitcher Tommy Kahnle from Triple-A Charlotte.
Cabrera is required to miss three games based on the leave rules. He has played in all 54 games this season, batting .275 with four home runs and 24 RBIs.
Kahnle, 26, is 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA on the season.
First pitch between the White Sox and Tigers on Friday comes at 6:10 p.m. CT from Comerica Park.
