White Sox Add RHP Brandon Brennan, RHP J.B. Wendelken To 40-Man Roster
(CBS) The White Sox added right-handers Brandon Brennan and J.B. Wendelken to their 40-man roster Friday, giving them protection from the Rule 5 draft that will be held Dec. 10.
The 24-year-old Brennan was 3-4 with a 3.55 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 58 1/3 innings at Class-A Winston-Salem in 2015. He missed part of the season with a strained chest muscle. The White Sox selected Brennan in the fourth round of the 2012 amateur draft.
The 22-year-old Wendelken went a combined 6-2 with a 3.20 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 59 innings across Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte last season.
The White Sox acquired Wendelken in a July 2013 trade with the Red Sox.
Chicago's 40-man roster now stands at 36.
