West Side Tattoo Shop Seeing More Cubs Fans Inking Their Loyalty

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Jade Dragon Tattoo on Chicago's West Side has been busy these days, inking die hard Cubs fans.

"We've seen a lot more requests for Cubs tattoos," said Joe Scapini, Manager. "I couldn't be happier. I'm a life long fan. I enjoy doing Cubs tattoos. I enjoy people coming in showing their support."

"I'm going under the needle too today to show my support but I don't want to jinx it. I've been here once before in '03 but I feel good about this team this year."

Jade Dragon is offering $100 Cubs tattoos all weekend, WBBM's Lisa Fielding reports.

"We'll do any logo that you want we can accommodate," Scapini said. "We do some cool custom things too with bricks and ivy and skylines."

"I've been waiting and waiting and have been wanting to do this so I think it's time," said DiGiovanni.

DiGiovanni said his daughter picked out the design and placement of the tattoo.

"I've been a fan since I can remember," DiGiovanni said. "My grandpa was having me watch the games since I was 2 or 3 years old. He had me getting him Old Style beers. I'm nervous but confident. They're in my heart, might as well be on my skin."

In another room, Hector Molina of Elmwood park is getting tattooed on his right arm.

"I want to show my support. I've waited my whole life. I believe in our team now and I have a good feeling this year," said Molina.

He said he'll add to his tat if the Cubs win it all.

"If we win," Molina said. "I'm definitely coming back and adding the date to the tattoo."

DiGiovanni has a few other tattoos so he says the pain isn't a problem.

"I've had more pain being a Cubs fan," he laughed.

"It's an exciting time to be a Chicagoan," Scapini said.

Jade Dragon Tattoo has been in Chicago for nearly 37 years.
