Video: One Of The Best Buzzer-Beating Shots You'll See
(CBS) This may be one of the greatest half-court, buzzer-beating shots in the history of high school sports, coupled with one of the most bone-headed plays you'll ever see.
With 2.9 seconds remaining and New Rochelle trailing Mount Vernon 60-58 in New York's Section 1 Class AA championship game, history was made.
New Rochelle's full-court in-bounds pass was intercepted by a Mount Vernon player, who inexplicably threw the ball in the air, directly into the hands of New Rochelle's Khalil Edney.
Edney then launched up a half-court swoosh to win the game for his team as time expired.
The referees huddled for a moment before declaring the shot was good.
