Vehicle Strikes Girl On Far South Side
CHICAGO (STMW) -- An 11-year-old girl was critically injured when she was struck by a vehicle Sunday in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood on the Far South Side.
The girl was struck in the 13100 block of South Langley Avenue about noon, police News Affairs Officer Joshua Purkiss said.
The child was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Fire Media Affairs spokeswoman Meg Ahlheim said.
The CTA's No. 34 South Michigan bus was temporarily rerouted in the area due to the accident, according to a CTA alert.
