Truck spills bricks on roadway, 8 hurt in crash on I-290 in Itasca, Illinois
Eight people were injured, and Interstate 290 was blocked for several hours on Monday, after a semi-trailer truck spilled a load of concrete bricks onto the road in northwest suburban Itasca.
The truck rolled over and dropped the bricks on the roadway of westbound I-290 at Thorndale Avenue around 11:15 a.m.
The view from CBS Skywatch showed several cars with damage at the scene.Illinois State Police said 11 vehicles were involved in the crash, and eight people were taken to hospitals for treatment.
The eastbound and westbound sides of the expressway were shut down for several hours due to debris, but reopened by 4 p.m., state police said.
