The Endangered Piping Plovers Return To Montrose Beach
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The beautiful weather along with springtime temps welcomes the return of the piping plovers.
According to CBS 2 meteorologist Ed Curran, the birds were seen on Montrose Beach. CBS 2 was able to find Rose, one half of the duo seen in the Chicago area. She and her partner Monty have shown up at the beach for past three years.
The birds are endangered. In 1985, there were only a handful of the birds in existence.
