Suspect Charged In 'Flash Mob' Theft At Sports Authority, Others Sought
(CBS) – A 21-year-old Chicago man has been arrested in connection with a "flash-mob" robbery that besieged a southwest suburban athletic store early this month.
Patrick Giles has been charged with burglary and felony theft and taken to the Will County jail, Frankfort police announced Friday.
Authorities say Giles was one of the suspects on Nov. 4 who grabbed expensive Starter jackets off racks at a Sports Authority store in Frankfort and fled. The crime – one of a series of organized thefts at Sports Authority locations in Chicago and the suburbs – was captured on surveillance video.
The investigation continues, and additional suspects are being sought.
