Stanley Cup Finals Beat By NBA Draft Lottery In Ratings
(CBS) Stanley Cup Finals ratings were naturally going to take a hit when the New Jersey Devils beat the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Finals, but who knew they would be this low?
Game 1 ratings hit a five-year low by a considerable amount. Only 2.9 million viewers tuned into NBC for Game 1, down from the 4.53 million that watched last year's Game 1 between the Bruins and Canucks.
In fact, ratings were so low that more people tuned into the NBA Draft Lottery Show. That's right, 2.95 viewers watched a bunch of ping pong balls instead of the Stanley Cup Finals. Ouch.
