Schuster: Bulls Win Game One...Big Time

By: David Schuster--

CHICAGO (WSCR) Not only was it a win, it was a convincing win as the Bulls take Game 1 103-82 over the Heat. The 2nd half told the story as the Bulls outscored Miami 55-34. But the numbers dont end there as the Bulls turned the ball over just one time over the final 24 minutes and they completely held both Lebron James and Dwayne Wade in check. For the game Wade had 18 points but just 6 after intermission and James had a mere 15 points with 5 coming in the 2nd half.

It was almost as if the 1st half was a feeling out process but then the Dobermanns were released as the Bulls defense clamped down and led to a barrage on the other end.

Derrick Rose finished with 28 points while Luol Deng had 21. Carlos Boozer had 14 points and 9 boards while Joakim Noah had just the reverse with 9 points and 14 rebounds.

And then there was the bench where the Bulls outscored their counterparts 28-15. Taj Gibson was incredibly energetic with 9 points which included a pair of crowd pleasing dunks while Ronnie Brewer had 8 points and played some great defense.

So the Bulls take game 1 but they know that game 2 will be even harder to win because the Heat will come with vengeance. What a great series this stands to be.
