Report: SIU Offers Head Coaching Job To Bruce Weber

(CBS) The Southern Illinois head coaching job is Bruce Weber's to turn down, according to The Southern.

Weber led the Salukis to two NCAA Tournaments from 1998-2003 before moving on to the University of Illinois, where he coached until he was fired March 9. Weber won 103 games at SIU and has received an offer to return to the school.

If Weber turns the job down, the report says the school has as many as eight other candidates it has already interviewed. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Wisconsin associate head coach Greg Gard is a candidate for the job.
