Report: Olive Garden To Open Restaurant In Avondale

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Breadstick lovers, rejoice! The city could soon get its first Olive Garden restaurant.

According to DNAInfo.com, the Kmart at 3443 W. Addison St. has agreed to lease part of a rarely used parking lot to Olive Garden for a restaurant in the Avondale neighborhood.

The chain famous for its unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks lunches would build its first restaurant in Chicago there, opening a 7,700-square foot, $1.2 million restaurant. Olive Garden has several locations in the surrounding suburbs.

The restaurant would employ about 100 workers, and seat about 245 patrons.
