Report: Jets Hire Todd Bowles

(CBS) Bears head coaching target Todd Bowles has been hired to be the coach of the New York Jets, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Bowles reportedly signed a four-year deal worth around $4 million per season.

The Bears had interviewed Bowles for their head coaching vacancy. He spent the past two seasons as defensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals, who had the league's fifth-ranked scoring defense in 2014. Before John Fox emerged as a candidate for the Bears, some reports suggested the Bears wanted Bowles back for a second interview, but that never materialized.

Prior to his time in Arizona, Bowles was the defensive backs coach in Philadelphia. He was an interim coach in Miami in 2011 after Tony Sparano was fired, going 2-1 in the short stint.
