Report: Cubs Nearing Deal With Taiwanese Pitcher Tseng
(CBS) The Cubs are approaching a deal with Taiwanese right-hander Jen-Ho Tseng, according to multiple reports.
The 18-year-old Tseng was considered one of the top pitchers available during the international signing period, though his value has dropped after a handful of inconsistent performances.
Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com reports Tseng, who pitched in two relief appearances for Chinese Taipei in the World Baseball Classic, will receive more than $1.5 million if the two sides can solidify a deal.
The Twins are also said to have interest in Tseng.
