The brand new 2011 Michelin Guide Chicago, the first for this city, was due to hit store shelves on Thursday, a day after a major event to announce its coveted star ratings for restaurants.

But now, Crain's Chicago Business reports that someone posted a purported list of the ratings to Yelp, an online site where customers can write reviews of businesses.

A spokeswoman for the Michelin Guide tells Crain's the company's aware of the posting but, she's not confirming whether the information is accurate.

If it is, Chicago has two three-star restaurants: Chef Grant Achatz's celebrated Alinea, 1723 N. Halsted St.; and the seafood restaurant L2O, 2300 N. Lincoln Park West. They'd be among an elite group. Only 91 restaurants worldwide rate 3 stars from Michelin.

The Yelp post also claims that three restaurants here got two-star ratings: Charlie Trotter's, 816 W. Armitage Ave.; Avenues at the Peninsula Hotel, 108 E. Superior St; and Ria at the Elysian Hotel, 11 E. Walton St. And it says 18 Chicago restaurants, including Blackbird, 619 W. Randolph St.; Schwa, 1466 N. Ashland Ave.; and Rick Bayless' Topolobampo, 445 N. Clark St., each earned one star.
