Nearly 3,000 Children Get Free Coats--Just In Time
CHICAGO (CBS) -- About 3,000 children who live in suburban Cook County got free coats on Thursday.
A Warm Coat--Just In Time
Children were shopping for coats at a Burlington Coat Factory store in Crestwood, where the "One Warm Coat" program is spreading a little timely warmth--as the season's first winter storm bears down on Chicago.
Organizer Lisa Anthony says about 2,800 coats will be given away.
"This is wonderful, especially today since we are due a big snowstorm tonight," she said.
Maggie was shopping with her four-year-old son, Evan.
He picked out a Superman coat.
"He's walking around, singing 'Superman!' Maggie said.
