Matt Forte Is Active; Bears' Zach Miller, Eddie Royal Inactive

By Chris Emma--

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Matt Forte is active for what may be his final game in a Bears uniform. The running back finishing out his eighth season and final year of a contract was initially listed as questionable with a back injury ahead of Sunday's home game against the Lions.

Speaking of his uncertainty last week, Forte said he won't feel overly emotional for what could be his final home game at Soldier Field. However, he did speak with honest sentiments in addressing his career in Chicago.

"I've enjoyed my time here," Forte said. "I've been blessed to play as long as I have played here – for the last eight years, I've been blessed."

The Bears did receive some bad news on the injury front, however, as receiver Eddie Royal will miss his seventh game of the season due to an illness. Tight end Zach Miller is also inactive with a toe injury.

Due to the Bears' injuries, the team's starting receivers will be Marc Mariani and Josh Bellamy, and Rob Housler will start at tight end, just weeks after being signed off the streets.

Additionally, Bears center Hroniss Grasu is out with a knee injury, meaning Matt Slauson will start at center and Vladimir Ducasse gets the start at left guard.

Chicago's full inactives also includes Jarvis Jenkins (ill, ankle), Jacoby Glenn, Tayo Fabuluje and Terry Williams.

Kickoff at Soldier Field comes at noon between the Bears and Lions, with both teams looking to finish the season 7-9.
