Man rushed to hospital from house fire in Chicago's Beverly neighborhood
A man was recovering Monday morning after a fire in a house in Chicago's Beverly neighborhood.
Police and firefighters responded to the fire in the 10000 block of South Bell Avenue at 10:39 p.m.
Smoke was seen lingering at the house after the fire was extinguished.
A man in the house was taken to a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation, police said.
A Chicago police source said the man was a CPD officer who was not on duty at the time, and was left in critical condition.
Information from the Chicago Fire Department was not immediately available.
