Man Charged With Firing Gun Into Air, Sending Bullet Through Window In South Loop

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was arrested early Sunday after police say he fired a gun into the air outside of a South Loop nightclub and sent a bullet through a nearby apartment window.

G. Elente Collins, 25, of Lisle, fired the gun into the air in the 1000 block of South State Street around 1:50 a.m., police said.

He was charged with felony reckless discharge of a firearm and misdemeanor criminal damage to property, police said.

The latter charge stemmed from the bullet going through the window.
