Man Admits To Murder In Court So He Can Get Back To His Cell In Time For Monday Night Football

(WSCR) Nathan Burris must really like football.

Burris was accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend and her male friend in a shotgun rampage at a toll plaza in 2009. During his trial Monday, Burris admitted to the crime and asked that the jury convict him quickly so he could return to his cell to watch the Eagles-Saints game.

"I did it. So what?" Burris said. "No remorse, no regrets, no mercy. … You want me to draw it out in crayon?"

Even after the admission, prosecutors still try to drill their point home. That's when Burris interrupted.

"This isn't Sesame Street," Burris responded. "(The jury) gets it, bro."
