Listen: Adam Eaton On With Mac & Spiegs
By Torrence Sorrell-
(CBS) As the July 31 trade deadline approaches, the White Sox currently sit 9 1/2 games out of first place in the AL Central at 40-46.
That means the front office will soon have decisions to make -- who to put on the trade block and who to keep. It can be a distraction for players this time of year, but Chicago outfield Adam Eaton says the White Sox just have to tune out that noise.
Or, even better, win more games to get back in the race.
"We try not to (think about it), but it definitely pops up" Eaton said in an interview with the McNeil and Spiegel Show on Thursday afternoon. "I had a few conversations, and when I say a few, maybe like two or three of guys just saying, 'You know we better turn it around because if not, some of our friends are leaving and we don't want that.' We want to keep our friends here and we have a good group."
You can listen to Eaton's entire interview below, in which he address the team's inconsistent play and what needs to change.
