Jake Arrieta Barber Creates Hair Designs For Chicago Cubs Fans

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Barber Miguel Rosas can't believe the attention he's gotten for his intricate design of Jake Arrieta that he created for his friend's son.

"It was a couple days before the playoff game against the Pirates, and I called my friend and asked if I could use one of kids as a model," he said. "I posted it online, and it took off. I figured it would get shared on Instagram, websites, but I never knew this would happen."

Rosas is in Chicago on Tuesday at the Acme Hotel to re-create his design or etch a Cubs logo in those who want to show their Cubbie pride on their head.

"I want the Cubs logo," said Jeff Cullin, Rosas' first client. "I think it'll bring some attention, yes, and hopefully some luck. It'll grow back. It's awesome."

Rosas went to his first ever Cubs game last week and even met Arrieta and showed him his creation.

"He was like 'Man, that's amazing,'" Rosas said. "I can't believe somebody can do something like that. He told me I was really talented, and he was happy to see something like that done."

Rosas even took a picture with the ace pitcher and the haircut.

Meantime, his hair model, grade schooler Isaiss Duarte, says he's been getting plenty of attention too.

"Everyone at school was like I saw you on TV," he laughed. "I think the design is so cool. As my hair grows, so does Arrieta's beard."

Rosas has been doing hair design for about seven years. As owner of Moline's Style Barbershop, he hopes his newfound fame lands him some more business.

"I would love to cut sport athletes, celebrities," he said. "I have a passion for what I do."

Rosas says the Arrieta design is the most intricate design he's done, but he has done others like the Apple logo with Steve Jobs' face inside. He even landed himself free KFC for life when he shaved Colonel Sanders on the back of a client's head.

"This is a great time to be in Chicago doing something like this," he said.

Rosas will be at the Acme Hotel at his popup barbershop Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Prices depend on the requested design.
