Heart Attack Strikes Referee At High School Game
ROUND LAKE, Ill. (STMW) - A referee collapsed of a heart attack 44 minutes into the high school varsity boys basketball game Saturday night, according to Round Lake Area School District Superintendent Constance Collins.
Round Lake Area High School staff administered CPR to the referee. Paramedics were called and the man was taken to an area hospital, Collins said.
As of Sunday, the referee's name was not confirmed. He was reported to be conscious but disoriented at the hospital later Saturday, Collins said. She did not identify the hospital.
No information was available from the Round Lake fire and police departments.
