Follow These Football Tailgating Tips For A Fun Season

CHICAGO (CBS) -- All eyes may be on the Cubs today, but the Bears were back at home playing the Jaguars this afternoon.

Football season is in full swing, and because football and tailgating go hand-in-hand, we've brought in celebrity party planner Debi Lilly to get you ready for the games.

Here are a few steps to create an outstanding football season:

Step 1: Tailgate means team spirit - and setting the table or SUV in full on Bears colors is easy with adding a table cloth, and using Lilly's free online DIY download pennants, stickers, tags and flags. Just visit www.aperfectevent.com, print, cut and style up your set-up.

Step 2: Use a tailgate bar hack - use muffin tins for passing trays. Yellow penalty flag napkins can brighten up the display. Use Lilly's downloads on buckets, bowls or platters.

One unique recipe: Bloody Mary Bites-- marinate cherry tomatoes in vodka, hot sauce, Worcestershire, serve with celery salt/lemon pepper.

Serve salad in little cups. Inject a little healthy when you can, Lilly says.

Step 3: Have an activity to keep your guests active. Everyone gets into the fun with Tailgate Bingo, Lilly says. It's a game that adults and kids can participate in. Head to her website to print the game boards.
