Fast-Food Workers Protest Poor Wages
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Fast-food and retail workers are taking to the streets in Chicago on Wednesday to protest poor wages.
Protest For Better Wage
It's part of a nationwide effort, called "Fight For 15," to pay workers $15 an hour.
Right now, most retail and fast-food workers make minimum wage.
The federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour.
In Illinois, it's $8.25. Indiana and Wisconsin pay the federal rate, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
Similar demonstrations have been held in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas.
