Fashion Gala Features Work Made From Sustainable Material

CHICAGO (CBS) -- While many partygoers are already putting on Halloween costumes, one gala in Chicago has a very green dress code.

Fashion Gala Features Work Made From Sustainable Material

The Green Ribbon Gala is hosting an eco-fashion show featuring creations made out of sustainable materials, including recycled plastic bottles and bamboo.

Amber Autumn created the Green Ribbon Foundation and they are throwing the party at the River North bar American Junkie as it is a chance for green businesses to meet and learn from each other.

"Not only to show them strategically to save money and be more efficient in addition to being more responsible to the environment," said Autumn.

The party will model sustainability by providing local and organic food and drink.

In its second year, the gala has grown from 200 to 350 guests, Autumn says.

Tickets for the event are available through the Green Ribbon Foundation.
